Earlier this year, OnePlus announced the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro in China, before launching it in other markets as the OnePlus Pad 3 (read our review). Now, the Oppo subsidiary has announced that it will launch the OnePlus Pad 2 alongside the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Ace 6 on October 27.
It is important to note that in 2024, OnePlus launched a tablet called the OnePlus Pad 2 (available on Amazon for $499.99), although it was for global markets. This means if the new OnePlus Pad 2 gets launched outside China, it will have to go by a different name, probably the OnePlus Pad 3 Lite or so.
The announcement of the launch date for the OnePlus Pad 2 includes a few key specs of the Android tablet and what the tablet looks like. As shown in the image above, the tablet will have uniform bezels, thin and flat sides, and a pill-shaped camera island with a single sensor and LED flash. It will also have three pogo connectors on the back for an optional keyboard. It is also revealed that the tablet will be available in Dark Gray and Azure.
With respect to its specs, the OnePlus Pad 2 will have a 3K display with a 144Hz refresh rate. While OnePlus doesn't say the screen size and panel type, there's a chance the OnePlus Pad 2 will have an IPS LCD panel like the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro. It has also been revealed that MediaTek's Dimensity 9400+ processor will power the tablet, and it will ship with ColorOS out of the box. The pre-order page also mentions that the tablet will have 12GB of RAM.
More technical details will likely be revealed as the launch date draws closer. However, like the pro model, the OnePlus Pad 2 is expected to have stylus support, fast wired charging, and stereo speakers. OnePlus should also release a couple of accessories for it, such as a keyboard case and a folio case.
