Lightweight, long battery life and a stylus with 4096 pressure and tilt levels are all included: The 12.1-inch Lenovo IdeaTab Plus offers great value for just under $300. Furthermore, the internal storage can be upgraded, and the IPS display is completely free of annoying PWM flickering.

Lenovo is positioning its new Android tablet, the Lenovo Idea Tab Plus, primarily as a practical companion for everyday student life. Equipped with a stylus, a responsive 90 Hz display and numerous integrated AI tools such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search, the 530-gram tablet, housed in an aluminum chassis, is designed to support users in their studies.

The ZUI user interface, powered by Android 15, can also display multiple apps simultaneously in separate windows and features a taskbar-like interface for quickly launching frequently used apps.

Suitable for everything except gaming

In our tests, the 12.1-inch tablet proved that it is not only suitable for study purposes, but also appeals to all users looking for a practical and affordable creative tablet for everyday life.

Featuring an IPS display with brightness of up to 762 cd/m² and stable viewing angles, a surprisingly powerful quartet of speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and support for DRM Widevine L1, the Idea Tab Plus has everything you need for multimedia use and web surfing.

In our Wi-Fi test, it lasted almost 15 hours, which is above average compared to similarly positioned competitors. The same can be said for the charging speed, as the 10,200 mAh battery can be charged at up to 45 watts. A complete charging cycle takes only 1:21 hours. It also comes with 256 GB of storage and the option of adding a microSD card with up to 2 TB of storage.

No cellular model in sight

The Mediatek Dimensity 6400 isn't exactly the fastest SoC, but it's sufficient for standard applications such as studying, streaming and web browsing. However, the tablet isn't really suitable for gaming, and on local networks, it only transmits at Wi-Fi 5 speeds. A power adapter is not included in the scope of delivery.

It's also a shame that Lenovo doesn't offer a cellular variant. Updates are available for four years, but this is still below the five years of updates required by the EU for mobile devices launched after June 20, 2025.
