The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 aims to impress creative professionals with its large 13-inch display, precise stylus and powerful performance. Where the Android tablet shines - and which weaknesses are noticeable in everyday use.

The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 is a mid-range creative tablet with a strong focus on productivity and media consumption. You can buy it for around US$ 600.

With a 13-inch display that is brighter, more color-accurate and without PWM flickering, as well as a precise touchscreen and 120 Hz refresh rate, it offers ideal conditions for drawing, note-taking and design work.

Precision and comfort for artists

The Lenovo Tab Pen Plus (sold separately) attaches magnetically to the casing and enables fine, pressure-sensitive input - perfect for sketching, handwriting or image editing. The precise touchscreen responds reliably even in the corners, while the 120 Hz refresh rate ensures a natural writing experience.

Thanks to Android 16 and AI functions, notes can not only be written, but also automatically summarized, reformulated or analyzed - a real added value for creative workflows.

Performance for demanding applications

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (with Adreno 825 graphics) masters even complex tasks such as 3D rendering or video editing with ease. Compared to its predecessor, the tablet is significantly faster, which is particularly noticeable when multitasking or playing games.

8 GB RAM and a choice of 128 or 256 GB memory (expandable via microSD) offer enough scope for large projects. However, the 128 GB version only uses UFS 3.1, while the 256 GB version is even faster with UFS 4.0.

Design and features for professionals

The slim metal chassis (only 6.2 mm thin) is comfortable to hold and has a high-quality appearance. The IP52 certification protects against dust and light water splashes - practical for on the go.

Four speakers ensure full, clear sound, and WiFi 7 enables transfer rates of over 2 GBit/s, which also makes the tablet ideal for streaming or cloud work.

A USB-C port with Power Delivery rounds off the features, but there is no mobile network or fingerprint sensor.

Weaknesses in everyday use

Despite the strengths, there are compromises: Although the battery life (10,200 mAh) lasts longer than its predecessor, it lags behind the competition.

The cameras (13 MP rear, 8 MP front) are also more suitable for snapshots than professional photography.

The update period (up to Android 18, security patches until 2030) is shorter than that of many competitors, and the casing heats up noticeably under load.
