New affordable Xiaomi tablet with large battery and compact design goes global via import

Xiaomi released the Redmi Pad 2 SE in April 2026 alongside a bunch of new products in China. None of them, including this affordable tablet, has officially made it to the global market yet, but those who are okay with importing can get this compact tab from Giztop.

Giztop is offering this affordable Redmi tablet for $229, which isn't exactly close to the Chinese launch price of the Pad 2 SE. To look back, Xiaomi launched it with a CNY 1,099 price tag, around $161. Still, Giztop's price isn't that bad, considering that it's among the few options global buyers have to get the tablet early.

Of course, interested buyers do need to consider a couple of things before pulling the trigger. The imported tablet will come with the Chinese version of HyperOS 3, and while Xiaomi has integrated proper support for English, the Chinese firmware is known for notification issues. However, it's worth noting that there are ways to overcome notification problems, but these methods require some tinkering.

The warranty is another factor to consider, as Giztop's policy and the official after-sales service from Xiaomi aren't the same. Other than these two, there's no need to worry too much about network bands, as this isn't a 5G tablet.

As for the tablet itself, it's a solid entry-level tablet for those who need something for day-to-day tasks and entertainment. The Snapdragon 6S 4G Gen 2 inside, however, isn't capable of handling modern heavy workloads, as it's not a performance-focused chipset.

Another notable aspect of the Redmi Pad 2 SE is the 7,600mAh battery, which, according to Xiaomi, allows around 2 days of battery life in regular use. The TF card support is also a nice touch, allowing users to expand the storage to up to 2TB (256GB Sandisk UHS-I microSD curr. $52.99 on Amazon).
