RedMagic confirms launch delay for upcoming OLED gaming tablet with compact design

RedMagic has confirmed that its new 11S Pro gaming phone series, which features the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, will launch in China on May 18, 2026. At this event, the company was expected to launch the much-teased Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, a new compact pad with an OLED display.

However, the company's product manager, Jiang Chao, has confirmed that the compact gaming tablet will not launch alongside the RedMagic 11S Pro series. The company official states that there are some bottlenecks that need to be resolved, but the representative didn't specifically share what the problems are.

It's possible that the gaming tablet isn't meeting the performance expectations, and as it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, this upcoming RedMagic pad already has tough competitors (such as the Legion Tab Gen 5). Getting back to the possible launch timeframe, Jiang Chao shares that the company will try to share some updates on this regard at the 11S Pro series launch event.

Aside from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, previous reports indicated that the gaming tablet will feature a similar cooling setup to that of the RedMagic 11 Pro series. Like the last-gen pad, it's expected to come with a pre-installed PC gaming emulator, allowing users to easily play computer games on it.

Digital Chat Station, a reliable leaker, shared in a report that the tablet will feature an OLED display featuring a 185Hz refresh rate, a large 8,300mAh battery, and up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. RedMagic could confirm some of these specs at the May 18 launch event.
