Xiaomi launches new affordable tablet with compact design and large battery

Xiaomi has released a new affordable tablet in China, the Redmi Pad 2 SE. Looking back, the first-gen tab, which was launched in 2023, comes with an 11.0-inch display. The newer model, on the other hand, is smaller. It has a 9.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
This panel is said to reach a peak brightness of 600 nits, have a resolution of 2048x1280 pixels, and an aspect ratio of 16:10. Under the hood, this Redmi tablet has a Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G, a 6nm SoC that was introduced in late 2025. Qualcomm has positioned it as a proper upgrade over the first-gen processor.
The SoC is paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There's a TF card slot that can be equipped with up to a 2TB memory card (256GB Sandisk Ultra microSDXC curr. $52.99 on Amazon). As for the build, the Redmi Pad 2 SE has an all-metal unibody with "flagship-level seamless design."
While the tablet is small in size, Xiaomi has packed a relatively large battery in it. The Pad 2 SE has a 7,600mAh battery, which promises to deliver up to 15 hours of video playback with a full charge.
A dual speaker setup, multiple eye protection features, and a single rear camera are among the other notable aspects of the Redmi Pad 2 SE. Xiaomi has launched the tablet with a price tag of CNY 1,099, around $161. While it's expected to make a global debut, the brand didn't share anything specific about it.
