Oppo releases new high-end tablet internationally with 120 Hz display

Earlier today Oppo launched the Find X9 Ultra, Enco Clip 2 and Watch X3 globally. Shortly afterwards, it presented the Find X9s, Find X9s Pro, Pad 5 Pro and the Pad Mini in China. For reference, Oppo has not confirmed whether these latter four devices will receive global releases.
In the meantime, it has quietly begun selling the Pad 5 in the Eurozone. Available with Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity, the Pad 5 started life last October in China. While the tablet has remained unchanged for the most part, a few noteworthy differences exist between its Chinese and global releases. For instance, Oppo has swapped the 10,420 mAh battery capable of 67 W charging it initially included for a 10,050 mAh equivalent, which also peaks at just 33 W when recharging.

Unfortunately, Oppo has also downgraded the Pad 5's 12.1-inch IPS display, which resolved 3,000 x 2,120 pixels with a 304 PPI and at a 144 Hz refresh rate in its Chinese release. By contrast, the tablet drops to a 2,800 x 1,980-pixel, a 284 PPI panel and a 120 Hz refresh rate for its global release, albeit with the same 900 nits peak brightness in HBM mode. Additionally, the Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset that powers the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra returns (curr. $974 on Amazon) as well.
Oppo has decided against offering the Pad 5 globally with more than 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, too. At launch, the tablet can be purchased with Wi-Fi connectivity and in a Starlight Black finish for €459 in Germany and €399 (~$469) in Spain. The Oppo Pad 5 can also be configured with 5G connectivity in Germany for €529 (~$620).
