The Framework Laptop 13 Pro is just as modular as the older Framework Laptop 13, but the new model promises higher performance and a much longer battery life in a stylish metal casing.

The brand new Framework Laptop 13 Pro looks like a higher quality, more modern version of the Framework Laptop 13. The black body is made entirely of CNC-milled aluminum, while the haptic trackpad promises more precise multi-touch gestures and even click feedback across the entire surface.

The keyboard is said to feel better thanks to an extended key travel of 1.5 millimeters. The 15.9 millimeter thick, 1.4 kilogram heavy laptop is available either with an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H or with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, with both variants running flawlessly with Windows 11 as well as Linux. The Intel version relies on modern LPCAMM2 RAM. The 13.5-inch touchscreen is designed in a 3:2 format, Framework advertises a resolution of 2,880 x 1,920 pixels, a frame rate of 120 Hz and a remarkable brightness of 700 nits.

The 74.5 Wh battery is said to achieve a runtime of up to 20 hours - the longest battery life of all Framework laptops to date. The Framework Laptop 13 Pro has the same modular design as the older Framework Laptop 13. Not only can users upgrade the RAM and SSD after purchase, but practically all other components can also be replaced in just a few minutes. The four ports are designed as modules so that they can even be replaced without any tools.

Prices and availability

The Framework Laptop 13 Pro can be pre-ordered immediately at the Framework online store, delivery will begin in June. The DIY Edition, which must be assembled by the customer, costs $1,251 with Intel Core Ultra 5 325 and four port modules, but without RAM and SSD. A fully assembled model with Core Ultra X7 358H, 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD costs $2,099 with Linux and $2,299 with Windows 11. The top model with AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, 64 GB RAM and 2 TB SSD is available for $3,099.
