Framework wants to surpass Logitech K400 with better trackpad

Together with the Framework Laptop 13 Pro the manufacturer also announced a wireless keyboard with an integrated trackpad today. This is based on the same keyboard used in the Framework Laptop 12, i.e. a membrane keyboard with a key travel of 1.5 millimeters.
According to Framework, this should offer a first-class typing experience by laptop standards. To the right of the keyboard is a large multi-touch trackpad - this is also said to come directly from a Framework Laptop, but has been rotated into portrait format. According to The Verge framework states that this trackpad is the biggest advantage compared to the Logitech K400 Plus ($29 on Amazon), which "everyone owns but nobody likes".
The compact combination of a keyboard with function keys and trackpad should be particularly useful for use on a couch when a mouse is not a viable option. The keyboard can be connected to a device either via a USB cable, via a USB-A dongle or via Bluetooth, whereby the keyboard can be paired with up to four devices at the same time and can switch between them using a key combination. Framework combines a Nordic nRF54L20 microcontroller with ZMK firmware so that each key can be programmed via a web interface.
Pricing and availability
Framework has not yet confirmed when or at what price the Wireless Touchpad Keyboard will be launched. Further details about the product can be found on the Framework website.
