A popular wireless gaming mouse is finally seeing a long-awaited refresh. The 60-gram Logitech G305 X Superlight is now rechargeable and more versatile with Bluetooth connectivity. Its design is largely unchanged, but a Hero 44K optical sensor targets competitive gamers.

Despite the Logitech G305 Lightspeed still ranking as an Amazon best-seller, it was overdue for an update. The manufacturer has announced the G305 X Superlight after rumors had emerged in Spring 2025. The wireless gaming mouse has undergone a dramatic weight loss while adding Bluetooth and an upgraded optical sensor.

The Logitech G305 X Superlight releases on June 30th for an asking price of $79.99/€79.99/£69.99. Black and white colorways are available at launch.

New Logitech mouse, same shape

The familiar symmetrical egg shape has survived, with the gaming mouse sporting nearly identical dimensions. As a result, its 6 programmable buttons still invite multiple grips. That said, larger hands may prefer the pricier but longer G Pro X Superlight 2. Owners will find a dash of RGB lighting underneath the scroll wheel.

Weighing around 60 grams, the G305 X Superlight is significantly lighter than its 99-gram predecessor. The loss of AA batteries accounts for much of that difference. Responding to feedback, the accessory is now USB-C rechargeable to replenish a battery life of at least 130 hours. The company claims gamers can gain up to 3.5 hours of use from a 2-minute charge.

Tri-mode connectivity

Connectivity has improved, led by the arrival of Bluetooth. Lightspeed wireless returns through a bundled dongle, and a wired mode is also supported. To compete with higher-end models, the Logitech mouse can connect to an optional 8kHz polling rate receiver.

It may be overkill for a modestly priced wireless gaming mouse, but Logitech has equipped the G305 X Superlight with a Hero 44K sensor. Sensitivity can be adjusted in the G Hub software, which also allows customization of buttons and lighting. A maximum IPS rating of 678, combined with a 60-gram shell, should promote more rapid movements.

The latest Logitech mouse is part of the G3 series, bolstered by the debut of the hot-swappable G316 X wired mechanical keyboard.
