Logitech launches G512 X TMR analog/mechanical gaming keyboard

While not the first magnetic switch keyboard from Logitech, the new G512 X series is the first with TMR switches. These types of switches have existed for quite some time now, and there are several TMR keyboards on the market, so Logitech is a bit late to the party. The G512 X series is offered in two form factors and is a hybrid setup, allowing both analog and mechanical switches simultaneously.
Logitech G512 X TMR specifications and features
The G512 X TMR is offered in 75 and 98-key form factors with 8K polling. Other than the size and number of keys, they are identical, and both are wired options. Logitech is touting “Dual swap analogue/mechanical switch compatibility,” which lets users swap out select switches for magnetic ones for faster and more precise inputs. There are a total of 39 TMR analogue switch beds that can accept magnetic switches, and Logitech includes nine magnetic analogue switches in the box. These nine switches can be stored at the top (back) of the keyboard when not in use.
Beyond these 39 magnetic switch beds, 81 slots accept and are populated by default with swappable mechanical switches. There is a Game Mode button and an Analogue Scan button, along with two dials for additional controls. Thanks to the magnetic switches, it allows for custom and multipoint actuation, ranging between 0.1mm and 4mm. There are also five rings included in the box that enable Second Actuation Pressure Point (SAPP), which clearly mark the second actuation point. The G Hub software can be used to customize and set unique inputs for the actuation points. Logitech is using double-shot PBT keycaps with shine-through text, and the gasket mount lends to a dampened sound profile. There is per-key RGB lighting and a light bar at the bottom (front).
Logitech G512 X TMR pricing and availability
Both sizes are available for purchase from Amazon and Logitech’s website. They are available in black and white colors, with tactile and linear switch options. The G512 X TMR 75 is priced at $180, and the 98 is priced at $200. Those who bundle either of the keyboards with any G502 X mouse will get the G502 Anniversary mousepad for free.
