8Bitdo Retro 68 keyboard gets an Apple 50th anniversary limited edition

Last year, 8BitDo released its first 68-key keyboard in the form of the 8BitDo Retro 68 Keyboard - NES 40th Limited Edition. It has now followed it with another, which is also a limited edition model.
The new keyboard is the 8BitDo Retro 68 Keyboard AP50th Limited Edition, and it has been released in celebration of Apple's 50th anniversary. The keyboard, which has an aluminum plate and aluminum alloy keys buttons, is inspired by the Apple II with its beige and brown colors.
It features Kailh Box Ice Cream Pro Max switches, a custom gasket mount, a hot swappable PCB, support for N-Key Rollover, and RGB backlight. The Retro 68 Keyboard AP50th Limited Edition, like 8BitDo's other retro keyboard comes with two programmable Super Buttons, albeit wireless ones.
The 8BitDo Retro 68 Keyboard AP50th Limited Edition connects via Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless (adapter included), and USB for a wired connection. It has a knob for switching between 2.4GHz and Bluetooth and another knob for volume control. It packs a pretty large 6,500mAh battery that 8BitDo says should last up to 300 hours on a single charge.
Unlike the 8BitDo Retro 68 Keyboard - NES 40th Limited Edition which is compatible with Windows and Android devices only, the 8BitDo Retro 68 Keyboard AP50th Limited Edition adds support for devices running macOS Tahoe 26 and above. This makes sense since it is a product released to celebrate Apple.
Priced at $499.99 just like the NES 40th Limited Edition, it can be pre-ordered now on the 8BitDo eShop, but it won't ship until June 2026. Each keyboard comes with a protective pouch and a certificate of collection. Unfortunately, while those who pre-ordered the NES 40th Limited Edition got a free Retro R8 Mouse - N Edition (available on Amazon for $49.99), there's no free gift when you pre-order the AP50th Limited Edition.
