Dell unveils new pro mice and keyboards: slim, rechargeable, and secure

Dell has introduced several new input devices and bundles aimed at everyday business users rather than gamers. The Dell Pro 7 Slim Keyboard and Mouse Set includes a low-profile keyboard and an ambidextrous mouse—though the mouse only features two side buttons on one side. As expected, it comes with a scroll wheel, and its sensor can be adjusted up to 6,000 DPI for customizable speed and precision. The keyboard uses scissor switches and can run on either AAA batteries or rechargeable ones, which Dell claims will last for years.
The Dell Pro 7 Rechargeable Compact Keyboard and Mouse follow a similar design philosophy but come with built-in rechargeable batteries instead of replaceable ones. Dell cites a battery life of up to three months for the keyboard and one and a half months for the mouse.
The Dell Pro 5 Wired Fingerprint ESS Mouse looks fairly conventional at first glance, but instead of a DPI switch beneath the scroll wheel, it features a fingerprint sensor. Using Windows Hello, the system can be unlocked almost instantly. This could be particularly useful in shared or high-traffic office environments, where fast and convenient authentication encourages employees to adopt stronger security practices. The Pro 5 Fingerprint ESS Mouse is available now for $45, while the Pro 7 Slim Keyboard and Mouse Set is priced at $90.
