8BitDo has begun accepting pre-orders for the 8BitDo Retro 68 Keyboard - NES 40th Limited Edition, its first keyboard with a 68-key layout. While it won't ship until January 2026, those who pre-order it will get a NES-inspired companion accessory worth $50.

The 8BitDo Retro 68 Keyboard - NES 40th Limited Edition isn't just a mechanical keyboard to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Nintendo Entertainment System; it is also 8BitDo' first 68-key keyboard. The keyboard is already available for pre-order, and 8BitDo has announced that early buyers will get a free gift.

Priced at $499.99, which makes it 8BitDo's most expensive keyboard, the Retro 68 won't begin to ship until January 2026. While that is a long wait, 8BitDo has decided to reward those who pre-order by including a free 8BitDo Retro R8 Mouse - N Edition.

Announced in April, the Retro R8 Mouse - N Edition sells for $49.99 on Amazon. The mouse features a PAW 3395 sensor, Kailh Sword GM X micro switches, and two customizable buttons on each side. It is an ambidextrous mouse, making it suitable for both left- and right-handed users. Users will be able to adjust both the polling rate and the DPI levels ( it has 6 DPI sensitivity levels between 50 and 26,000) using the 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2.

The Retro R8 Mouse is a rechargeable mouse featuring a 450mAh battery and includes a charging dock. It can be connected via Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless using the included dongle. It can also be used as a wired USB mouse. 8BitDo states that users can expect up to 100 hours of use when connected via Bluetooth and between 26 and 105 hours (depending on the polling rate) when connected via 2.4GHz wireless.

On the other hand, the 8BitDo Retro 68 Keyboard - NES 40th Limited Edition has Kailh switches, an aluminum plate, aluminum alloy keycaps, a hot-swappable PCB, and N-key rollover. The all-metal keyboard features RGB backlight, a custom gasket mount with six precision-engineered dampeners for a soft and stable typing experience, and a massive 6,500mAh battery that lasts up to 300 hours on a single charge. Like the Retro R8 Mouse, it can be connected via Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless, and wired USB.
