Wiko appears to have collaborated closely with Huawei once again on the Hi MateBook 14, given the clear parallels with Huawei’s laptop lineup in terms of branding and design. Nonetheless, Wiko has incorporated some unique elements in the Hi MateBook 14’s design, such as a keyboard that features round or pill-shaped keys rather than conventional rectangular ones.
The laptop sports a metal chassis and a built-in fingerprint sensor in the power button, all whilst remaining relatively portable at just 14.5 mm (0.57 in) thick and 1.32 kg (2.9 lb) in weight. One standout feature in this price bracket is the display: The 3:2 OLED touchscreen offers a resolution of 2,880 x 1,920 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 450 nits – alongside a PWM frequency of 1,920 Hz to minimise perceptible flicker.
Under the hood, the Hi MateBook 14 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 H 255, featuring eight Zen 4 performance cores with boost clocks of up to 4.9 GHz and integrated AMD Radeon 780M graphics. Paired with a fairly substantial 70 Wh battery, the laptop reportedly delivers up to 15 hours of local video playback on a single charge. Wiko equips the device with a 1 TB SSD and offers memory configurations of either 16 GB or 32 GB. For I/O options, the laptop includes a USB-C port, two USB-A ports (5 Gbit/s), an HDMI interface, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
