Verdict - MagicBook Art 14 stays one of the subnotebooks
The new MagicBook Art 14 2025 is once again an impressively slim and light subnotebook with many features like the attachable webcam (even though the resolution could be better), many ports, and a vapor chamber cooling. Despite the slim construction, the keyboard was further improved, and in combination with the excellent haptic touchpad, the input devices are among the best you can get on a mobile device.
The high-resolution 3K OLED touchscreen with 120 Hz offers excellent image quality with accurate color profiles. Honor advertises a brightness increase to 1600 nits, but we cannot confirm this claim, neither in the direct sunlight, nor with other light sources.
The only two weak spots are the lack of Wi-Fi 7 as well as the soldered memory, even though the models with 32 GB RAM should be more than sufficient for most users. All in all, the new MagicBook Art 14 2025 is still one of the best subnotebooks on the market.
Pros
Cons
Honor's MagicBook Art 14 was a very slim and light subnotebook launched last year, which was available with Intel as well as Snapdragon CPUs. For 2025, we now get Intel's Arrow Lake processors. The starting price is €1699 and we review the model with the Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, 32 GB RAM as well as 1 TB SSD storage.
Specifications
Case & Connectivity
The case (magnesium alloy) and the ports are identical to the previous model, so we want to refer to our in-depth review of the 2024 model. The new version is available in the colors Emerald Green, Mocha Browns, and Sunrise White. We review the white version, which has a slight color effect on the lid. The only maintenance option is the SSD, but you get a sufficient number of ports (including Thunderbolt 4). The magnetic webcam, which can be stored inside the chassis, is once again very convenient, but the sensor could be better. Studio effects for the webcam as well as live captions are supported. There is no Wi-Fi 7 module.

Input Devices - Excellent keyboard
The illuminated keyboard (1.5 mm travel) was further improved and now offers an even more comfortable typing experience than before. The key strokes are also very precise and quiet, which makes it on of the best keyboards in the laptop segment. This is also the case for the large haptic touchpad with additional gestures on the edges, which are supported by vibration effects. The touchscreen also works very well and you can deactivate the touch functionality via control center.
Display - Great 3K OLED with 120 Hz
The glossy 3K OLED (3120 x 2080 pixel, 3:2) with 120 Hz is basically identical to the previous model and the image quality is simply excellent. There is DC dimming with a frequency of 120 Hz is measurable at brightness levels of 85 % and lower, but the amplitude is very low and there should not be any issues.
Honor advertises a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits in bright environments when the brightness sensor is active. We cannot confirm this number, because we were not able to measure more than the "standard" HDR brightness of ~740 cd/m², neither in direct sunlight nor with the help of other light sources. The SDR brightness is around 500 nits. Honor provides accurate color profiles, but we even managed to improve the image quality with our own calibration. The according profile can be downloaded in the box below.

The display backlight flickers at 120 Hz (worst case, e.g., utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 85 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting. The frequency of 120 Hz is very low, so the flickering may cause eyestrain and headaches after extended use. In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 8280 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 343500) Hz was measured. |

Review Settings
Honor does not offer dedicated performance profiles; we performed the benchmarks and measurements with the Windows mode Best Performance.
Processor - Intel Core Ultra 7 255H
With power limits of 40/26 Watts, the MagicBook cannot utilize the full potential of the Core Ultra 7 255H, but the overall CPU performance is still very good compared to other slim laptops. The performance is just slightly lower on battery power (-8 %).

GPU Performance
The GPU performance of the Arc Graphics 140T is just slightly better compared to the previous model and slightly suffers from the low power limits. The gaming performance in more demanding titles is also slightly affected, but the gaming performance is still okay for an iGPU system.

This is how Notebookcheck is testing
Every year, Notebookcheck independently reviews hundreds of laptops and smartphones using standardized procedures to ensure that all results are comparable. We have continuously developed our test methods for around 20 years and set industry standards in the process. In our test labs, high-quality measuring equipment is utilized by experienced technicians and editors. These tests involve a multi-stage validation process. Our complex rating system is based on hundreds of well-founded measurements and benchmarks, which maintains objectivity. Further information on our test methods can be found here.
