Honor managed to improve the keyboard of the new MagicBook Art 14 2025 even further, despite the slim chassis construction. The result is a more comfortable typing experience than on modern ThinkPads, which used to the gold standard for laptop keyboards years ago.

If you want the slimmest laptop possible, there have to be some compromises and manufacturers try to save space wherever they can. This often includes reducing the number of ports, using on-board memory or reduce key travel for the keyboard, which obviously affects the typing experience. With last year's MagicBook Art 14, Honor launched a slim subnotebook with a weight of just little more than 1 kg, which tries to offer plenty of features. In addition to a sufficient number of ports (including USB-A), the keyboard features 1.5 mm travel, which offered a very comfortable typing experience.

With the new 2025 MagicBook Art 14, Honor managed to improve the keyboard even further and a direct comparison shows that the typing experience is even better than before. Key strokes are slightly more precise and at the same time quieter. All in all, this is one of the best in the laptop segment, especially considering the slim chassis. This is also confirmed by a direct comparison with the current Lenovo ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1, a premium business convertible. Lenovo calls it a typical ThinkPad keyboard, but these keyboards are not anywhere as good as the used to be many years ago. Compared to the new MagicBook Art 14, the ThinkPad is beaten, because the keyboard is simply not quite as comfortable.

There are better laptop keyboards, but you will have to use larger and heavier gaming notebooks. One of the most compact examples is the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 with 1.7 mm key travel. Large 16-inch models obviously have more room for keyboards, but they are in a completely different world when it comes to the size and weight.

As is was already the case last year, the large haptic touchpad is pretty much perfect. It is no problem to move the cursor around and there are additional gestures along the edges, which are supported by vibration effects. You can obviously use the touchscreen as well, but you can just as easily deactivate the touch functionality via the control center.

The MagicBook Art 14 obviously has to make some compromises as well, like the soldered memory or the comparatively short battery runtime, but you do not have to worry about the quality of the input devices. Please see our full review of the 2025 MagicBook Art 14 for more information.
