Huawei released the 2025 model of the MatePad 12 X globally this September, a product refresh with mostly incremental upgrades to the camera, connectivity and software. The tablet has now reached German stores, starting at €649 (about $722) and is available in green and white.
Like with other markets, Huawei is rolling out the 2025 MatePad 12 X in Germany with a deal that includes a free Huawei M-Pencil Pro in addition to a 12-month screen warranty extension. However, buyers who order the tablet from Huawei's website or its Berlin flagship store by November 4th will also be getting a free NearLink mouse and a three-year manufacturer's warranty, as well as other perks.
Huawei has equipped the MatePad 12 X 2025 with a HiSilicon Kirin T92B octacore SoC and a new 50MP primary camera. The 12-inch screen is the same as last year - sporting a 2800 × 1840 resolution and 1000 nits of brightness as well as the PaperMatte tech. The matte panel helps with a more natural feel when writing or drawing, supposedly, but as we have found in our MatePad 12 X review, it nerfs contrast and colour fidelity. On the other hand, it does improve glare compared to a glossy rival like the OnePlus Pad 3 (curr. $594.99 on Amazon).
The Huawei MatePad 12 X 2025 will set you back £599.99 (about $805) in the UK and €649 (about $722) in Germany. This includes the tablet and keyboard cover, but no charger.
