Little Rocket Lab, developed by Teenage Astronauts and published by No More Robots, is now officially out on Steam and Xbox on October 7, 2025. For fans of cozy automation gameplay and community-driven life sim elements, this game might hit some sweet spots.
In the game, players take on the role of Morgan, who is an aspiring engineer who returns to her small-hometown setting of St. Ambroise to pursue her family’s unfinished dream - building a rocket ship in their old backyard launch silo. The premise sets up a combination of resource gathering, factory automation, and interactions with a diverse cast of both human and robotic townsfolk. Regarding core gameplay, you have to set up drills, furnaces, conveyors, assemblers, and automated bots to process resources and manufacture complex rocket parts. Some machines must be supplied via optimized conveyor lines, which will push players to design and redesign more efficient layouts.
What differentiates Little Rocket Lab from well-established titles like Factorio or Satisfactory is its relaxed pacing and positive community impact. There are no stress timers, no fail states, and no combat threats. Instead, players fulfill side quests, repair equipment, and contribute to the welfare of the town, with every technical fix or crafted item having visible benefits for local residents. In short, the game encourages experimentation and creative solutions, supporting breaking down and rebuilding systems without too many heavy penalties.
Design-wise, Little Rocket Lab features painterly, soft-edged graphics with gentle bloom and bright colors. Dialogue and quest interactions include emoji bubbles, and the soundtrack uses chill guitar and lo-fi beats to create a calm atmosphere throughout longer play sessions.
Steam Deck (curr. $639 on Amazon) compatibility and full controller support are available from launch. The game has already been translated into six languages and has immediate Xbox Game Pass access. Thanks to a balanced mix of automation, town-building, and narrative, Little Rocket Lab looks to be a neat new entry in the genre. It's priced at $14.99 on Steam - that includes a 25% launch discount. There's a demo available as well, if you want to try the game out before spending money on it.
