Logitech G Pro X 3 Lightspeed gaming headset debuts with a revamped microphone

The Logitech G Pro X 3 Lightspeed is the follow-up to the brand’s top esports wireless gaming headset. Battery life is more generous, and an updated omnidirectional microphone hopes to address a commonly cited shortcoming. 50 mm graphene drivers have returned to help identify audio cues before the competition.

Buyers can pre-order the Pro X 3 Lightspeed now for $249.99/€279.99. Available in black, white, and magenta, the gaming headset is expected to ship by October 8th.

Microphone advancements

In its marketing, the manufacturer focuses on a redesigned microphone as a reason to upgrade. With the Logitech G Pro X 2, some chatters noted that their recorded voices didn’t sound natural. The detachable mic boasts a wider 75 Hz-20 kHz frequency response, which should reduce reliance on voice filters.

Logitech again chose graphene for the drivers inside the Pro X 3 Lightspeed. Most owners of its predecessor found the light yet rigid material effectively separated low, mid, and high tones. Less distortion also makes it easier to recognize approaching footsteps in competitive shooters. In the G Hub app, a 10-band EQ allows for more precise customization.

Wireless connectivity on the Pro X 3

The new wireless gaming headset arrives with familiar connectivity. Gamers can rely on the low-latency wireless dongle with an optional analog input. Bluetooth is offered, but there is no indication listeners can finally mix wireless sources. On the other hand, the improved battery life is notable, rated at 70 hours rather than 50 hours.

The Logitech headset uses memory foam for both the headband and its velour ear pads. Designed for esports pros, the choice prioritizes breathability. While comfort was rarely a complaint with the Pro X 2, the latest model is unfortunately slightly heavier at 356 grams.
