The new Pulse and Pulse Edge are expected to launch around the turn of the year.
Sony has unveiled the PlayStation Pulse and premium Pulse Edge wireless headsets, both featuring upgraded planar magnetic drivers, PlayStation Link connectivity, Bluetooth support and AI-assisted microphone noise rejection. The release date and price of both models are yet to be announced.

Sony has just unveiled a refreshed pair of wireless headsets for PS5, the PlayStation Pulse and Pulse Edge, positioned as successors to the existing Pulse and Pulse Elite models. Both feature the studio-inspired planar magnetic driver technology introduced with Pulse Elite in 2024, now paired with larger drivers intended to provide deeper bass while retaining sound separation and spatial accuracy.

Both models support PlayStation Link via an included USB-C adapter, offering lossless, low-latency audio and the ability to switch between supported devices, including PS5, PlayStation Portal, PC, and Mac, while also pairing simultaneously over Bluetooth. They also include include AI-assisted noise rejection on their microphones and a slimmer, flatter-folding design aimed at portability.

Pulse Edge is the more heavily specced of the two, doubling the magnet count per driver over the standard Pulse model. It adds active noise cancellation, a detachable boom microphone, onboard game/chat balance controls, a hidden microphone, an audio jack and a carrying case. The standard Pulse instead uses an integrated microphone and lacks the aforementioned features, marking a clear tier split between the two.

Both headsets will come in White and Midnight Black, but Sony has not announced pricing yet. The standard Pulse is scheduled to launch in select markets during the 2026 holiday season, while Pulse Edge is due from early 2027. Sony states that preorder, launch-date and pricing details will follow soon.
