Logitech launches the Pro X2 Rapid with an OLED display and 8kHz polling

Logitech entered the magnetic gaming keyboard market in 2024 with the Pro X TKL Rapid, its first model built around analogue switches. The company is now following it with the Pro X2 Rapid, another wired tenkeyless keyboard aimed at competitive players. Rather than changing the basic formula, the new generation focuses on faster input, finer control and easier access to important settings.

The biggest change is a new set of factory-lubricated KS-20 POM magnetic Hall Effect switches. They require 30g of force, with a tolerance of 10g, making them lighter than the 35g switches used by the original model. Actuation can be set anywhere between 0.1mm and 4mm in 0.05mm steps, compared with the previous keyboard’s 0.1mm increments, while total key travel remains 4mm. Rapid Trigger resets a key as soon as upward movement is detected, and both scanning and USB polling now run at 8,000Hz to capture and report inputs with less delay.

Another major addition is the OLED display, which lets players adjust Rapid Trigger, actuation points, Key Priority and Lightsync RGB directly from the keyboard, while G Hub handles more detailed customisation. Logitech has also fitted the Space, Enter and Shift keys with screw-in stabilisers to reduce wobble and provide a more consistent feel. An XL silicone palm rest is included in the box, together with spare keycaps for Esc, Pause/Break, Page Up and Page Down, and a combined switch and keycap puller. The keyboard measures 363mm wide, 143mm deep and 38mm high, connects through a detachable 1.8m USB-A to USB-C cable and supports Windows 10 or later and macOS 12 or later.

Alongside these upgrades, the Pro X2 Rapid carries forward the competitive features of its predecessor. These include doubleshot PBT keycaps, an aluminium switch plate, a dedicated Game Mode button, three onboard profiles, per-key Lightsync RGB and Keycontrol for macros and multi-action commands. Key Priority can resolve opposing inputs based on the latest key pressed, the key pushed furthest or a command assigned absolute priority. The six-layer acoustic construction also returns, combining PORON, IXPE, polyurethane foam and silicone dampening materials to reduce echo and metallic vibrations. Available through LogitechG.com from September 23 in black, white and magenta, the keyboard costs $229.99 in the US and €249.99 in Europe and comes with a two-year limited hardware warranty. That places it $60 above the original model’s US launch price.
