The Inzone H9 exudes PlayStation styling, but its overall sound quality falls short for some buyers. At a higher price, the Inzone H9 II features drivers from the WH-1000XM6 Sony headphones. Wired connectivity and Bluetooth LE support are other notable additions.

Released in 2022, some gamers would argue that the Sony Inzone H9 is in need of an upgrade. The wireless gaming headset attracted buyers with its active noise-cancelling capabilities. Still, a bass-heavy sound profile was less appealing to other listeners.

Billbil-kun has leaked specs and pricing for the Inzone H9 II, which Sony could announce shortly before Gamescom. A switch to WH-1000XM6 drivers and wired new connectivity are highlights. Unfortunately, buyers can expect to pay a premium for the updates.

Detailed on Dealabs Magazine, the Inzone H9 II would demand $349.99/€349.99, a $50 increase over its predecessor. Pre-orders for the Sony headset may begin as early as August 19th, with shipments ready soon after. The Fnatic esports organization influenced the peripheral’s development. As a result, they will likely play a crucial role in its marketing.

Not uncommon for gaming headsets, the original Inzone H9 emphasized booming explosions. However, they tended to overwhelm mid-tones, leading to an unbalanced soundscape. The Inzone H9 II will borrow the 30mm dynamic drivers found in the popular Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones. With the change, the new wireless gaming headset could convince skeptical audiophiles.

The Sony Inzone H9 focuses on wider connectivity

There is no evidence that the revamped Sony headset will utilize PlayStation Link. Instead, it will rely on a more familiar 2.4 GHz USB-C wireless dongle. The accessory will also employ the more efficient Bluetooth LE protocol. Although Xbox gamers will have to resort to a 3.5 mm analog audio jack, the Inzone H9 II should be more multi-platform friendly.

While the Inzone H9 is generally considered comfortable, it has a bulky design. More portable for competitive gamers, the revised model has reduced its weight from 330 to 260 grams. To filter out background interference, Sony is relying on a detachable AI noise-cancelling microphone.

Some buyers may scoff at its price, but the Inzone H9 II aims to appeal again to gamers seeking a high-end PS5 headset. At the same time, wired connectivity makes the accessory more versatile.
