The original Sony Inzone H9 were introduced back in 2022 as Sony's flagship gaming headphones, and now they are finally getting a successor with a number of significant upgrades. While the design changes are subtle at first glance, the new headphones are much lighter at 9.2 oz, and the microphone can finally be detached. This means that the Inzone H9 II can be used as regular Bluetooth headphones on the go.
The most significant hardware upgrade of the Inzone H9 II are the new drivers, which are taken straight from the popular Sony WH-1000XM6. Therefore, the new headset should offer a similar audio quality at a significantly lower price. These Sony headphones also support virtual 7.1 surround sound as well as Sony 360 Reality Audio. The sound can be adjusted via an equalizer found in the corresponding smartphone or Windows app. Sony also includes special sound profiles for Valorant and Apex Legends, which have been created in collaboration with the esports experts from Fnatic.
The Inzone H9 II offer active noise cancellation (ANC) and a transparency mode. Sony further advertises a battery life of 30 hours. Because the Inzone H9 II can be connected via Bluetooth, an AUX cable, or a 2.4GHz USB-C dongle, these headphones should be compatible with pretty much all devices, including the Nintendo Switch 2, smartphones, PCs and even the Xbox Series X. Buttons on the earcups allow users to adjust the volume of the chat and game audio, and to mute the microphone.
