DJI has now confirmed the date of its next product release after introducing the Osmo 360 at the end of last month. Contrary to previous leaks, the Mic 3 and Osmo 360 did not arrive simultaneously. However, the former does appear to be the combination of the Mic Mini and Mic 2 (curr. $314 on Amazon) that other rumours suggested.
As the embedded tweet below shows, DJI intends to announce new hardware on August 28. Specifically, the company will reveal the unnamed device at 13:00 UTC, which it currently teases under the tagline' Performance That Speaks'. Based on past performance, DJI will open pre-orders shortly after this 13:00 UTC launch window.
Although DJI is remaining coy about what it has planned, DroneDJ claims to have spotted a Norwegian retailer posting Mic 3 listings ahead of schedule. Apparently, the same website has obtained US launch pricing too, which it claims is $309 for the full list of products shown in the picture below. Meanwhile, the Mic 3 with a charging case should retail for $89 on its own. The full DJI Mic 3 is said to include the following:
- 1x DJI Mic 3 receiver
- 2x DJI Mic 3 transmitters
- 1x DJI Mic 3 charging case
- 1x DJI Mic 3 USB Type-C smartphone adapter (Lightning adapter sold separately)
- 4x windscreens (2x black/grey, 2x black)
- 1x 3.5 mm TRS to TRS locking audio adapter cable
- 1x Padded carrying case
- 2x Magnets
- 2x Magnetic clips
- 1x USB-C to USB-C cable
