Colorful DJI Mic Mini 2 and new "Mic 2S" variant coming, says leak ahead of April 28 launch

Following an official DJI teaser with the tagline "More Than Sound," which set an April 28 launch date for what looks like DJI’s next wireless mic, new evidence has emerged, seemingly confirming the existence of not one, but two new DJI microphones.
Initially spotted by Benjamin O'Carroll, FCC filings (now deleted) specifically name the DJI Mic Mini 2 (DMMT02) and a previously unknown DJI Mic Mini 2S (DMMT03). While the "2S" suffix is new to the series, it suggests a different DJI Mic 2 variant, potentially offering a distinct design overhaul.
The anticipated release of the "DJI Mini 2" follows a rapid evolution of DJI's audio ecosystem. The current lineup consists of the entry-level DJI Mic Mini (launched late 2024) and the pro-grade DJI Mic 3, which debuted in August 2025. Positioned between these two, the Mic Mini 2 and Mic 2S might bridge the gap between "starter" gear and the high-end Mic 3.
All that said, DJI’s launch strategy isn’t without its problems. While both models were submitted for certification in the US, the "Mic 2S" model, alongside the Osmo Pocket 4, was recently pulled from the FCC database. This suggests that while the company is moving forward with the colorful "More Than Sound" April 28 launch, US customers may only receive the base Mic Mini 2 - which might be a “win” considering DJI’s ongoing regulatory hurdles.
