Insta360’s Osmo Pocket 4, DJI Mic 3 "Ultra" competition gets a “preview date”

Almost all the cards are on the table now, as Insta360 has just officially announced we are getting our first “exclusive sneak peek” at the “Insta360 Luna Ultra” gimbal vlogging camera at the 2026 NAB Show (April 18-22, 2026).
The teaser image we got is purposefully blurred out, but using Gemini to interpret the design of the Insta360 Luna Ultra (based on other leaks) should give us a relatively decent idea of what the Luna Ultra’s gimbal head is going to look like. Blurry or not, it’s more than clear that (unlike the Osmo Pocket 4) the Luna Ultra has a dual-camera system (with rumored 3x optical zoom).

Insta 360 Luna Ultra: DJI Osmo Pocket 4’s big competitor might be getting its own “Mic Air” to compete with the DJI Mic 3
Insta360 calls the Insta360 Luna Ultra your “new creative companion,” but a true Osmo Pocket 4 (launching April 16) competitor will need a strong ecosystem of accessories to compete with DJI’s existing ecosystem and reputation in the pocket camera department. That’s why Insta360 is also teasing what looks like a successor to the Insta360 Mic Air.
The button-style wireless mic that is likely to come bundled with at least one Insta360 Luna Ultra retail version shouldn’t be too different from the original Mic Air - which itself was heavily inspired by the popular Hollyland Lark M2.
All in all, the Insta360 Luna Ultra and new Mic Air will directly compete with the new DJI Osmo Pocket 4 and the DJI Mic 3 from the Creator Combo bundle of the new Pocket. While we recently found out the Osmo Pocket 4 will start at €500 (promotional offer) in Europe, the Insta360 Luna Ultra’s price is yet to be revealed.
It remains to be seen exactly “how much” of Insta360’s first Osmo Pocket competitor will be shown at the 2026 NAB Show (April 18-22, 2026). Of course, the event is open to the media, so we might be days away from getting our first hands-on footage of the Insta360 Luna Ultra.
