New video sparks Osmo Pocket 4 microSD card slot controversy days before launch

The wait is almost over, as DJI has recently confirmed that the Osmo Pocket 4 vlogging gimbal camera will launch on April 16, 2026, at 12:00 PM GMT.
You might be excited to find out that DJI just dropped another teaser video with a new tagline: "More storage. More stories," which seems to cement the recent leaks for the addition of 107GB of built-in storage. However, the big question remains: Does the Osmo Pocket 4 still have an SD card slot?
Ironically, DJI’s teaser video adds fuel to the fire, showing SD cards being "chewed away" to make room for the (faster) internal memory. While this suggests a "storage upgrade," fans (rightfully) fear a "storage downgrade" if the expandable slot is removed entirely. In the end, how are you going to lose your SD card if you don’t have one in the first place?
Why the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is (most likely) still getting a MicroSD card slot - despite DJI’s cryptic teaser
Thankfully, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and we don’t mean the new magnetic fill light coming with the Osmo Pocket 4. One of the recently leaked renders clearly shows a new cover slot on the left side of DJI’s brand-new vlogging camera.
Unless the company is planning to give us a second USB-C port (for accessories and data transfer), this is likely the same SD card slot we saw on the Osmo Pocket 3 - only hidden behind a door for better dust and water resistance (which sounds super practical). So, perhaps the Osmo Pocket 4 wouldn't be losing a pro-grade legacy feature like the SD card slot, but gaining pro-grade protection.
Stay tuned for more DJI Osmo Pocket 4 news as we head toward the April 16 launch!
