DJI releases new Mic Mini 2 ahead of schedule with eye-catching design

Earlier today, we noticed DJI listing the Mic Mini 2 on its UK website. Not set to arrive globally until April 28, the earlier listing arrived alongside a slew of recent leaks about the same microphone hardware. In the meantime, DJI has already released the Mic Mini 2 in China.
Teased last week to be arriving a week earlier in China than elsewhere, the Mic Mini 2 can be purchased as just the transmitter itself or in various combination packages like the Mic Mini before it (curr. $78 on Amazon). Incidentally, the Mic Mini 2 is 10% heavier than its predecessor, excluding its magnetic back clip and magnet. Transmitter battery life stays at 11.5 hours though, as does receiver battery life at 10.5 hours.
With that being said, the Mic Mini 2 surpasses the existing Mic Mini in a few areas. For instance, DJI has brought across its bright, normal and rich tone presets from the Mic 3. Transmitter charging time has dropped by 20 minutes to 70 minutes, too. Built-in storage is still missing, as is built-in timecode editing that DJI continues to reserve for the Mic 3.
The DJI Mic Mini 2 starts at CNY 179 (~$26) for the transmitter itself. Pricing then jumps to CNY 329 (~$48) for the transmitter and receiver or the same price for a transmitter and a charging case. Alternatively, DJI charges CNY 429 (~$63) for the Mic Mini 2 charging case, one receiver and two transmitters.
Adding a transmitter raises the Mic Mini 2's price to CNY 599 (~$88); a second transmitter raises prices further to CNY 698 (~$103). Meanwhile, DJI has priced windscreens and magnetic front covers at CNY 99 (~$15) each, plus special edition versions of the latter at CNY 199 (~$29). Please see DJI's website for more details.
