DJI Mic Mini 2 confirmed; hands-on video, full specs reveal pro-grade EQ, mobile receiver, magnetic covers

Following the recent buzz surrounding the new Osmo Pocket 4, DJI has one more surprise up its sleeve for April - a surprise even DJI itself couldn’t wait to accidentally reveal on its website.
Accident or not, the DJI Mic Mini 2 (launching April 28) is now officially confirmed. However, it is not quite "officially revealed” yet. That said, you don’t have to wait as a detailed Mic Mini 2 leak seems to reveal the full specifications, new features, and pricing for DJI’s latest ultra-compact wireless mic system.
DJI Mic Mini 2 is more customizable than the original Mic Mini; adds some features from the premium DJI Mic 3
First things first, the most striking update with the DJI Mic Mini 2 is the introduction of interchangeable magnetic covers. Available in at least ten different colors, these covers allow creators to match their transmitter to their outfit or style. Notably, this is a different customization approach to that of the new Insta360 Mic Pro, which has an E-Ink display.
On the technical side, compared to the DJI Mic Mini, the Mic Mini 2 gets the flagship DJI Mic 3’s Vocal Tone presets to allow for instant EQ adjustment without post-processing:
- Normal: For clean, natural audio.
- Bright: Enhances high frequencies for better clarity and presence.
- Rich: Boosts the low end for a deeper, more resonant "radio" voice.
Apart from the above-mentioned customization options, the DJI Mic Mini 2 also introduces smaller upgrades over the first generation. The transmitter’s weight has increased slightly to 11 g (up from 10 g) to accommodate the new magnetic system, while we also see mobile-first bundles that now include the USB-C receiver as a standard kit option for smartphone-centric creators.
DJI Mic Mini 2: Configuration bundles and pricing - DJI is being generous
According to the leaked info, the DJI Mic Mini 2 is expected to get five different bundles at launch. The "mobile" retail variants are particularly noteworthy, as they (finally) get a USB-C receiver bundled in rather than requiring it as a separate purchase.
However, the biggest headline here might be the pricing. DJI is reportedly maintaining the current MSRP of the original Mic Mini. This is a significant win, considering the original transmitter launched at €59 in late 2024 before settling at its current €33 price point.
