Leaker Igor Bogdanov has returned to DJI's next wireless microphone release, just a few days after Jasper Ellens and DroneXL delivered photos and specifications of the same device. While those pair focused on the latter, Bogdanov has indulged his followers with over a dozen images featuring the Mic 3 and its various accessories.
Based on these new images, it seems that DJI has only made minor visual changes with the design of its receiver from the Mic 2 generation (curr. $349 on Amazon). For instance, the small display remains, which spans 1.1-inches on the Mic 2 generation with OLED technology and touchscreen support. Likewise, the oversized dial returns, albeit without the 'Mic RX' branding beneath it that exists on the Mic 2.
Moreover, the receiver has features dual audio outputs for connecting the device to cameras and headphones simultaneously, for example. Meanwhile, the Mic 3 transmitter is expected to be about the same size as the Mic Mini equivalent at 14 x 28 x 29 mm. Apparently, DJI plans to sell Mic 3 Windscreens in several novel colours too, evidence of which we embedded above.
Currently, DJI is believed to be targeting July 29 as the release day for its next wireless microphone. If recent leaks are accurate, then we may see the Mic 3 launching alongside the long-awaited Osmo 360, too. Unfortunately, Mic 3 pricing has not emerged yet, nor whether the wireless microphone will be available in multiple colours as per the Mic 2.
