DJI is best known for producing action cameras and drones. However, a new leak emphasises that the company is still working to towards releasing its first robot vacuum too called the DJI Romo.

DJI's debut robot vacuum has appeared in another courtesy of Igor Bogdanov. While a first picture leaked last year, there were suggestions that the so-called DJI Romo had been in development for some time. Subsequently, the same device was spotted across two separate leaks last month. Now, Bogdanov has posted a clearer photo of the same robot vacuum, which we embedded below.

Known for their reliable DJI leaks, Bogdanov insists that the image is of DJI's long-awaited robot vacuum. To that end, the word Romo can be made out on the device's cover-less base station. Like rivals produced by Roborock and others, the DJI Romo will come with a base station capable of emptying, cleaning and refilling the robot vacuum itself as necessary. Currently, DJI is expected to dispense with LiDAR altogether in favour of front-facing cameras.

Although this omission could improve manoeuvrability, it remains to be seen whether this change will impact the vacuum's mapping capabilities. Unfortunately, it still remains unclear when DJI will release the Romo. In the meantime, the company is said to be on the verge of replacing the Osmo Action 5 Pro and the Mic 2 while also challenging the Insta360 X5 with a 360-degree action camera of its own.
