It seems that DJI could be finally preparing to release its first robot vacuum after years of speculation. Officially, DJI has never acknowledged the existence of its iRobot or Roborock alternative. Instead, it has focused on expanding its drone and action camera series with options like the Osmo Action 5 Pro (curr. $339 on Amazon).
Nonetheless, new evidence has emerged indicating that DJI continues to develop its inaugural robot vacuum after its appearance online in October. On the one hand, a photo apparently showing at least half a dozen DJI Romo units has begun circulating on Chinese social media. Reposted to X by OsitaLV, the photo not only shows a drawing of the robot vacuum itself, but also of its docking station.
From this, we can infer that the DJI Romo has two sets of brushes with a conventional obstacle avoidance system. Incidentally, it looks like one of these brushes can be extended. At any rate, the Romo also features a docking station that resembles the one Roborock offers with the QRevo Curv. Reportedly, DJI's first robot vacuum will support automatic washing and drying functionality and 6 DoF sensors for navigation and obstacle avoidance purposes. Other details still remain unknown at this stage though, including a specific release date.
