The Home Assistant 2025.7 release is here. It follows the regular monthly update cycle for this open-source smart home automation software. As a reminder, the 2025.6 release brought a new Bluetooth connection graph.
With Home Assistant 2025.7, there is a new Ask Question action, making the Assist voice assistant more conversational. It means that you can set up Assist to ask you questions, rather than waiting for you to start a conversation. The example shown in a YouTube video (below) sees the voice assistant tell the user that there is hot weather, and suggest closing the shutter accordingly.
Another update is the redesigned Area card, which is now fully compatible with the Sections dashboard. It looks like the Tile card, with users offered compact and detailed views. Plus, the Areas dashboard overview has been improved, said to make it easier to see and remotely control key devices in each room in your home.
There are now integration sub-entries, making it faster to set up integrations with the same authentication credentials, such as additional calendars or AI agents. However, this is only supported for the following integrations: Anthropic, Google Generative AI, MQTT, Ollama, OpenAI Conversation, and Telegram Bot. The design of the integration page has also been refreshed.
New integrations with Home Assistant 2025.7 include Altruist air quality sensor, PlayStation Network, Vegetronix VegeHub and the Tilt Pi wireless brewing hydrometer and thermometer (curr. $135 at Amazon). You can find the complete release notes for Home Assistant 2025.7 on the company’s website.
