Home Assistant 2025.6 has been officially announced. This latest version of the open-source smart home automation software follows a May update, which brought a new iteration of the backup system and text-to-speech voice variants.
According to a recent blog post, Home Assistant 2025.6 brings a range of improvements. The new entity picker, which was released in Home Assistant 2025.5, has been enhanced. As a reminder, pickers are the dropdowns used to select an entity, device and more. The search experience is said to have been refined and is now available for area, category, floor, label, user and device pickers. The Bluetooth integration has been improved with a new Bluetooth connection graph, allowing users to clearly see how Bluetooth devices are connected to their instance of Home Assistant.
There is also a new iteration of the experimental Areas dashboard, which arrives with Home Assistant 2025.4. Additions include a new Actions section and, in the Others section, new number entities, buttons entities, counters and timer helper. Plus, the “Entertainment” section has been renamed “Media players”. There are fresh integrations for Alexa devices like Fire TVs and the Echo Pop (curr. $24.99 at Amazon), as well as Probe Plus meat thermometers. The Homee integration now supports fans and offers alarm control panels, and the Samsung SmartThings integration is compatible with hobs, water heaters, and freezer temperature sensors.
You can find the complete release notes for Home Assistant 2025.6 on the company’s website. The Home Assistant team notes that, while its June release arrives a week later than expected, the 2025.7 is expected to go live on July 2nd.
