Philips Hue has released version 5.44.0 of its iOS app to users of its smart home products. This appears to be a relatively minor update. Plus, some users may be disappointed to note that an exciting upcoming feature has not been rolled out to more customers in this release.

The Philips Hue app for iOS has been updated again. This time, users are receiving version 5.44.0. It arrives a few weeks after the previous release, version 5.43.0, which brought changes relating to Secure cameras and the brand's smart light switches and sensors.

The change log for the Philips Hue app version 5.44 is minimal. It simply states that there are "various bug fixes and stability improvements" without going into more detail. Unfortunately, it appears that this latest release does not bring the new AI-powered assistant to more users as some had hoped.

The Philips Hue AI assistant was recently released for English-speaking users in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Accessed from the Home tab, it allows you to create smart lighting effects tailored to your mood or an event. There is support for voice and text prompts, and there are like and dislike buttons for users to feedback.

It remains uncertain when the Philips Hue AI assistant will reach more users. Another unknown is the date of the next Philips Hue app update for Android; the last release for these users was version 5.43 at the end of May 2025. You can now download Philips Hue app version 5.44.0 from the Apple App Store.
