Philips Hue Aurelle: New, cheaper smart ceiling lights now available
The refreshed Philips Hue Aurelle smart ceiling lights are now available in Europe. Three of these smart home products were spotted at the brand’s online stores in several countries earlier in 2025. The original versions of these lights were launched in 2018.
You can now purchase the refreshed Philips Hue Aurelle Round Panel Light (39 cm) for £129.99/€149.99, £30/€30 less than the original model. The new Philips Hue Aurelle Rectangle Panel Light (30 x 120 cm) is more expensive at £169.99/€199.99, but still £50/€40 cheaper than its predecessor. The company has also revealed two more updated square variants. The Philips Hue Aurelle Square Panel Light (30 x 30 cm) is priced at £119.99/€139.99, while the Philips Hue Aurelle Square Panel Light (60 x 60 cm) costs £169.99/€199.99. Again, these new square panels are cheaper than the original versions.
According to the product listings, the refreshed smart ceiling lights are identical to their predecessors. However, they no longer come with a Philips Hue dimmer switch (curr. $22.99 at Amazon), which is likely to be a large part of the reason why the prices have been reduced. The packaging has also been tweaked slightly. Each has a White Ambiance LED light source, expected to run for 25,000 hours. The maximum brightness levels are as follows: 1,940 lumens (Square, small), 2,450 lumens (Round), 2,750 lumens (Square, large), and 3,750 lumens (Rectangle).
Users can remotely control these lights, adjusting the white color temperature and brightness through the Philips Hue app. They can also be linked to other smart home products via the Hue Bridge. Each shape is available with a matte black or matte white aluminum frame. Whether or when the Philips Hue Aurelle Panel Lights could be released in the US remains to be seen.
