Philips Hue is rolling out new software for its Secure cameras and the Hue Play HDMI sync boxes. The security cameras were last updated at the start of May 2025, gaining battery performance enhancements. The HDMI sync box received its previous update at the end of April, with general bug fixes and improvements.
Now, Philips Hue Secure Cameras version 1.2.32.976160 has arrived. This is said to resolve a bug where some events recorded by the camera were missing. Philips Hue has not indicated how many users were affected by this issue or how it has been resolved.
Firmware version 2.5.3 for the Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box 4K and the Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box 8K (curr. $349.99 at Amazon) has a minimal change log. The company states that there are “general bug fixes and improvements” without providing further details.
Philips Hue updates typically roll out in phases, reaching all users within a few days. The Philips Hue Secure Cameras and Philips Hue HDMI sync boxes should receive these new releases automatically. Users are advised to ensure that they have automatic updates switched on the Philips Hue app; this setting is found under Settings > Software update > Automatic update.
