The TCL D2 Pro Palm Vein Digital Smart Door Lock with Keypad is now available in the US, Canada and Australia. This is the brand’s latest intelligent door lock, building on the older D1 Pro.
As its name suggests, the D2 Pro offers palm vein recognition, providing a touch-free way for you to unlock your door. According to TCL, this technology has 99.99% accuracy, with the lock recognising your hand in around 0.3 seconds. Alternative methods for unlocking your door include the TCL Home mobile app, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands, the keypad, a key fob and a physical key.
The D2 Pro also has an auto-lock feature for additional peace of mind. Users can remotely lock the door or check on the lock’s status via the app. You can also be alerted when your door is locked, unlocked or opened. Plus, you can use the app to manage the device’s users, schedule future access and view an access log. The 10,000mAh rechargeable battery is said to provide up to 180 days of runtime, recharging via USB-C. The smart lock supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and operates in temperatures between -25°C and 70°C (~13°F and 158°F)
TCL’s new D2 Pro Palm Vein Digital Smart Door Lock with Keypad is currently available for $179 (~C$244/A$276), a 20% discount on the $199 (~C$271/A$307) RRP. It is unclear how long this deal will last. In the US, customers can purchase this new smart home device from the brand’s online store or Amazon.
