The Dell 14 Plus laptop, which was released just a few months ago, is already available at a big discount. With a 28% price cut, the Dell 14 Plus has now become a solid multimedia value thanks to its Core Ultra 7 258V APU, 32 GB of RAM, and a 120 Hz display.

Dell debuted the new 14 Plus and 16 Plus multimedia laptops at CES 2025. These models replace the Inspiron 14 and Inspiron 16 notebooks from previous years. The smaller of the two, the Dell 14 Plus, is a mid-priced machine targeted at consumers who want a portable laptop that covers all the bases. This is exactly what the Dell 14 Plus achieves, as we concluded in our review.

The Dell 14 Plus is now only $899.99 on Dell’s official online store, a discount of $350 on the $1,250 list price (linked at the end). The SKU on sale packs a:

  • Core Ultra 7 258V with an Arc 140V iGPU
  • 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory
  • 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage
  • A 14-inch 2.5K IPS display with a 90 Hz refresh rate
  • A 64 Wh battery

Other notable details include a backlight keyboard, a large trackpad with Windows Precision drivers, and an Intel Wi-Fi 7/BT modem. A healthy port selection with a mix of Thunderbolt 4, Type-A, Type-C, HDMI, and audio ports rounds the system off.

Dell 14 Plus is portable and long-lasting

We concluded in our review of the Dell 14 Plus with a Core Ultra 7 256V APU that the laptop “focuses on core features that budget-conscious users care including a modern CPU, high resolution IPS display with full sRGB colors, and a relatively thin-and-light build for easy transport”. This is also true for the model on sale.

Powered by an efficient Core Ultra 7 258V with 8 cores and a 4.8 GHz boost clock, the Dell 14 Plus is fast enough to handle routine tasks. Since the Core Ultra 7 258V carries an Arc 140V iGPU, players can also expect to run lighter graphics tasks reasonably well. For instance, the Arc 140V can play games like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown above 120 FPS at the highest settings.

While raw performance is not the main selling point of the Core Ultra 7 258V, the chip is quite efficient. We measured a WLAN runtime of over 14 hours. So, the Dell 14 Plus will easily last more than a workday on a single charge.

In short, the Dell 14 Plus is an easy recommendation for folks who need a lightweight multimedia laptop for daily use.
