Deal | Samsung's 2025 flagship HW-Q990F soundbar gets a massive 50% discount
Had your eye on Samsung’s newest flagship HW-Q990F soundbar, but thought its $1,999 price tag was a bit of a stretch? If so, you're in luck! The 2025 model has just received a huge 50% discount, turning this previously over-expensive soundbar into a steal.
Woot is currently offering the brand-new Samsung HW-Q990F 11.1.4-ch Dolby Atmos soundbar for as low as $997.99. While a flat 50% discount is a welcome sight for any premium soundbar, it’s especially remarkable for the HW-Q990F, which only hit shelves two months ago. This is the lowest price we’ve tracked for the 2025 model, and beats the previous all-time low of $1,399 we saw back in May. This deal even undercuts last year’s model, HW-Q990D, which is currently available for $1,498 on Amazon.
Samsung HW-Q990F is identical to HW-Q990D except for one big change
Originally announced at CES 2025, Samsung’s new HW-Q990F flagship soundbar went on sale in the US in early April. The biggest change on the newer model is a revamped sealed subwoofer; it features dual 8-inch drivers arranged in opposite directions. The new subwoofer is roughly half the size of its predecessor, and Samsung claims it reproduces more precise bass with minimum distortions and vibrations. The HW-Q990F features a total of 23 drivers powering its 11.1.4 channel configuration. The setup includes 11 front and side-firing channels, 1 dedicated subwoofer channel, and 4 height channels for Dolby Atmos content.
Apart from the redesigned subwoofer and a few minor cosmetic changes, the HW-Q990D is pretty much identical to last year’s HW-Q990D. You get support for all prominent audio formats like Dolby Atmos, Wireless Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, Dolby TrueHD, and Eclipsa Audio, an open-source spatial format developed by Samsung and Google. Samsung’s usual sound enhancements, such as SpaceFit Sound Pro, Active Voice Amplifier Pro, and Q-Symphony, are also onboard. In terms of connectivity, the HW-Q990F offers two HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K 120Hz passthrough, eARC, an optical audio output, Bluetooth 5.3, Roon support, Spotify Connect, AirPlay, Chromecast, and compatibility with Google Home, Bixby, and Alexa.
