SwitchBot is now accepting pre-orders for a silver version of the Lock Ultra. A black version of this smart home product was launched at the end of May 2025. It is designed to work with an existing door lock and is said to be compatible with 99.9% of doors.
Aside from the silver color of the new version of the SwitchBot Lock Ultra, it is identical to the original black variant. The smart lock works with a single deadbolt, jimmy proof and mortise locks thanks to an adapter. It allows you to unlock your door in seventeen ways, including with NFC, voice or your smartwatch. Plus, optional accessories can add a fingerprint scanner or facial recognition. According to SwitchBot, it can unlock your door in 0.3 seconds with 98% accuracy, and the motor is described as quiet.
The Lock Ultra has main, backup and emergency power sources, providing around 12 months of runtime. You can remotely control or adjust the settings of the lock in the SwitchBot app, and it also works with Matter. Plus, there is said to be a six-layer security system, alerting users to potential tampering, and the real-time status is viewable in the accompanying app. It measures 122 x 62.6 x 66.8 mm (~4.8 x 2.5 x 2.6 inches) and weighs 367 g (~12.9 oz.)
The silver SwitchBot Lock Ultra is now available to pre-order for $139.99/£159.99/€159.99. According to the product listing, shipping is expected to begin in July 2025. Various bundles are also available, such as the silver SwitchBot Lock Ultra and the new Keypad Vision for $239.98/£309.98/€309.98. A bundle of the black SwitchBot Smart Lock Ultra and the Keypad Touch are currently available at Amazon for $179.99, thanks to a $30 coupon.
