Waveshare is now offering two new touchscreens with integrated circuit boards, which should be suitable for a wide variety of projects, including smart homes. Wireless network connectivity is supported, as is Bluetooth 5.

Waveshare has released two new smart displays that come without pre-installed software. These two models are called ESP32-P4-WIFI6-Touch-LCD-4C and ESP32-P4-WIFI6-Touch-LCD-3.4C. They differ in size and sport round panels with a diagonal of 3.4 inches and 4 inches, respectively. The resolutions are 800 x 800 and 720 x 720 pixels, while the brightness specified as 300 and 350 nits. Both displays support touch input.

Furthermore, these integrated circuit boards are equipped with an ESP32-P4 core and an ESP32-C6-Mini-1 module, which provides wireless connectivity via WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5 LE. As usual, Waveshare’s new smart home displays are powered and programmed via USB Type-C. The device’s real-time clock can be connected to a battery via a header, while a microSD card slot can be used to store pictures or other media that can be shown on the screen.

External speakers can be connected, but microphones with echo reduction are already built into the Waveshare ESP32. Moreover, external sensors and actuators can be hooked up via a 40-pin header. Most importantly, these displays are very versatile and can be used for a wide range of projects. For example, they could be used as customizable smart home displays, but Waveshare has demonstrated a potential use case in cars as a digital display that can display the speed and other metrics. It can also be connected to a gaming PC to show system load and other parameters. Official prices range from $65 to $75.
