Waveshare launches RP2040 Pi-Zero board with Raspberry Pi chip for under US$10
Waveshare just announced the RP2040-PiZero development board. It supports a wide variety of add-on boards, such as the 1.3-inch LCD HAT, with the company even selling a compatible 7-inch touchscreen display.
As one can guess from its name, the board features the RP2040, a microcontroller with two ARM Cortex-M0+ cores running at up to 133 MHz and 264 KB of internal SRAM. As a side note, this is the same microcontroller used for the Raspberry Pi Pico lineup. Also present is 16 MB of onboard flash memory, with a microSD card slot allowing users to add more storage.
Connectivity includes two USB-C ports (with one of them featuring PIO functionality), a DVI interface (using the Mini HDMI connector), a battery header, and a 40-pin GPIO header.
The Waveshare RP2040-PiZero is already available on the company's online store for just US$9.99, with volume discounts bringing the price down even further.
