Banana Pi BPI-6202: New industrial single-board computer released for US$104
Banana Pi has introduced the BPI-6202, a single-board computer (SBC) that measures 140 x 100 mm. For reference, the company refers to the BPI-6202 as an 'embedded single board computer', which appears to suggest that Banana Pi has designed the board for industrial use cases. As such, Banana Pi has included the Allwinner A40i, a chipset that can operate between -40°C and +60 °C.
According to Allwinner, the A40i utilises four ARM Cortex-A7 CPU cores that it has clocked at 1.2 GHz. Additionally, the SoC features a Mali-400 MP2 GPU that supports 1080p/60 FPS video encoding but only 1080p/45 FPS video encoding. Nonetheless, Banana Pi complements the Allwinner A40i with 2 GB of DDR3 RAM and 8 GB of eMMC flash storage. Moreover, the company has included a MicroSD card slot and an M.2 2242 Key-B socket if you wish to add more storage.
As the image below shows, Banana Pi has packed the BPI-6202 with ports and expansion options, such as a 20-pin GPIO header, Gigabit Ethernet and an HDMI 1.4 port. Based on Banana Pi's wiki, the BPI-6022 supports Ubuntu Mate. However, the company has not shared any download link yet, as CNX Software notes. Similarly, while Banana Pi is selling the SBC on AliExpress for US$104 at the time of writing, there is no way to order its metal enclosure, a photo of which we have embedded below. Please see Banana Pi's wiki and AliExpress pages for more details.
