DJI previously unveiled a new power station called the DJI Power 1000, which has been available for some time. Now, the manufacturer has introduced an improved variant named the Power 1000 V2. This model comes with smart features and is designed for fast charging. Specifically, it uses lithium iron phosphate cells with a total capacity of 1024 Wh, which supposedly lose less than 20% of their original capacity after 4,000 charging cycles. The DJI power station measures 17.6 x 8.9 x 9.1 inches and weighs 31.3 lbs, so it’s quite portable.
The Power 1000 V2 further boasts an output of up to 2600 watts, which can be sustained until it’s completely discharged. In that scenario, the power station would hit 0% state of charge in less than half an hour. Such high output can be particularly useful to power devices that need lots of power upon startup.
According to DJI, the power station can be fully charged in 56 minutes and hit 80% in just 37 minutes, which could be practical during a brief stop with an RV. DJI drones can be charged particularly quickly with optional accessories. The power station itself can be charged via solar at up to 1800 watts, and with special adapters, it can also be charged by vehicles or generators.
The DJI Power 1000 V2 can also function as a UPS, as the power station able to kick in within ten milliseconds of a power interruption. In addition to two regular outlets, there are also two USB Type-C ports, which can provide a combined 280 watts and up to 140 watts individually. Two USB Type-A ports can each deliver up to 24 watts. A display is integrated, and the gadget can be controlled via a smartphone app.
The DJI Power 1000 V2 is now available for €899. Expansion batteries can each add 2048Wh of capacity, for a total capacity of up to 11,264Wh. Meanwhile, the original DJI Power 1000 V1 should be significantly cheaper in many regions and currently retails for $417 on Amazon US.
