DJI sets Mic Mini 2S specs and release date: internal recording and 4-channel support in the tiniest wireless microphone

DJI just announced the Mic Mini 2S, set to launch on July 2, 2026, and the "S" stands for storage. While the Mic Mini 2 focused on design refinement and customization, the 2S adds the main feature that was missing from its predecessor.

The DJI Mic Mini 2S version adds internal recording and the capacity to sync up to four mics with one receiver. These are all features that DJI fans have been clamoring for ever since the Mic Mini line was brought to market. No storage for internal recording meant there was no backup audio when the camera stopped, for example, and that capability hole has now been plugged.

DJI Mic Mini 2S price and release date

The upcoming Mic Mini 2S has already been listed on DJI’s web store with a placeholder price that will certainly be higher than the $79 that a Mic Mini 2 kit is currently discounted to on Amazon.

It may be worth the wait if one needs backups, as it targets solo creators, event videographers, and demanding vloggers who need an alternative to the bulkier and more expensive Mic 2.

The Mic Mini 2S's TX units will have internal storage space to support solo recording, and users will be able to connect up to four transmitters to a single receiver, so it can be used as an affordable multi-person interview setup.

There are four Mic Mini 2S bundles that are currently listed over at DJI: universal 1-to-2 with case, universal 1-to-1, mobile 1-to-1 with case, and a standalone transmitter. The individual DJI Mic Mini 2S kit prices are likely going to be listed on July 2 when the tiny pro microphone hits the shelves in an official launch.
