Lenovo releases new 14-inch ThinkPad with 120 Hz display and dual SSD slots

Lenovo has finally started selling a ThinkPad E14 with AMD Zen 5 processors. Inexplicably, the ThinkPad E14 Gen 7 stuck with AMD’s older Zen 4 architecture (curr. $949 on Amazon). Please see our detailed review from September 2025 for an overview of the ThinkPad E14 series.
By contrast, the ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 is available with a choice between Krackan Point 2 and Gorgon Point processors. Incidentally, Lenovo already sells Intel Panther Lake-backed alternatives globally. Meanwhile, the company currently restricts AMD models to Australia, East Asia and Southeast Asia, just like the ThinkPad T1g Gen 9 that arrived earlier this week.
By default, Lenovo equips the ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 with the Ryzen AI 5 330, 16 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD, a 48 Wh battery and a 1200p IPS display with 400 nits peak brightness, a 60 Hz refresh rate and just 45% NTSC colour space coverage. Also, this entry-level option comes with a 720p webcam and an all-ABS plastic housing.
However, Lenovo sells four other processors, up to and including the Ryzen AI 7 445. Also, the ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 is available with up to 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM running in dual-channel mode, 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage and a second SSD slot. On top of that, a larger 64 Wh battery can be configured, as can an aluminium base cover and a battery 1080p webcam.
Moreover, Lenovo offers an optional 120 Hz display that also jumps to a 2,880 x 1,800 resolution and 500 nits peak brightness. While still an IPS panel. This more expensive display option also sports 100% sRGB colour space coverage. Pricing starts at AUD 1,294, HKD 12,253, MYR 5,958 and SGD 1,456 (~$1,125) in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, respectively. Lenovo has not confirmed when the ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 AMD will be available in other markets.
