Lenovo releases new 16-inch ThinkPad globally with LPCAMM2 RAM and Intel Panther Lake
Lenovo has released one of its most powerful ThinkPads in North America. Specifically, the company is now selling the ThinkPad P16s i Gen 5, having already launched the same laptop earlier this year in Asia, Australia and Europe, where it was previously available.
In the process, Lenovo has finally given the ThinkPad P16s i Gen 5 a global release. The same is not yet the case for its AMD-based counterpart though, the predecessor for which we reviewed in December 2025 (curr. $1,799 on Amazon). Setting that aside, the ThinkPad P16s i Gen 5 starts at $3,069 in the US and CAD 4,249 in Canada.
Currently, Lenovo is only offering the 16-inch laptop in a single configuration. Other markets indicate that more configuration options will be available later this year, though. In the meantime, Lenovo sells the ThinkPad P16s i Gen 5 with a Core Ultra 7 356H processor and an Nvidia RTX Pro 500 Blackwell (6 GB) laptop GPU. Additionally, the laptop benefits from a 90 Wh battery that supports 100 W charging.
On top of that, the ThinkPad P16s i Gen 5 contains 1 TB of PCIe Gen 5 storage and 32 GB of LPCAMM2 RAM running at 7,467 MT/s. For reference, the laptop can be upgraded with up to 96 GB of LPCAMM2 RAM as needed. Unfortunately, this SKU comes with a 1200p, 400-nit and 60 Hz IPS display that provides a mere 45% NTSC colour space coverage. Please see our launch article and Lenovo's website for more details.
