Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15 Wildcat may be affordable, but it's looking long in the tooth

The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15 has been refreshed this year with the latest Intel Wildcat Lake CPUs. The new processor series was designed for budget-oriented laptops including the IdeaPad 3 series to better tackle inexpensive newcomers like the MacBook Neo. However, Lenovo may have forgotten one important aspect: the design of the IdeaPad itself.
The 2026 IdeaPad slim 3 15 adopts the design of the 2025 model with no external changes or updates. While this in itself is not an issue, the 2025 model was arguably already outdated with its relatively thick bezels and reliance on a special AC barrel adapter for charging instead of universal USB-C. The overly plastic design of the IdeaPad is aging even more poorly for 2026 especially when compared to upcoming sub $1000 competitors like the Wildcat Dell XPS 13.
The MacBook Neo announcement made headlines not for its raw performance but for its combination of attractive colors with a sleek profile and a low starting price. For a chance to be on buyers' radars, The IdeaPad 3 series will have to catch up in the looks department while maintaining similar entry-level prices.
